How it works
- Choose the settings above, then how many questions: 6, 12, 18 or 24.
- Print the sheet. The answer key comes on a page of its own and shows each completed figure.
- Or practise on screen. Counting and yes/no questions are marked when you check. “Complete the figure” is drawn on paper; on screen it shows the figure and, on request, the finished one.
- Keep the link. The address holds both the settings and the figures, so the same link gives the same sheet again.
Three kinds of question
- Count the lines. A figure on squared paper: how many lines of symmetry has it? A figure can have none, one, two or four on a square grid; the second level includes the diagonals.
- Mirror line? The figure has a dashed line. Is it a line of symmetry, so that one side is the mirror image of the other?
- Complete the figure. Half a figure is drawn beside a dashed line. Draw the other half so the line becomes a line of symmetry.
The first level uses a 6 × 6 grid and lines that go up or across; the second uses 8 × 8 and also the diagonal.
