How it works
- Choose the kind of question above, then how many: 10, 20, 30 or 40.
- Print the sheet. The student circles one answer per question. The answer key comes on a page of its own.
- Or practise on screen. The same questions appear with options to choose from, and every answer is marked when you check. There is no score and no clock.
- Keep the link. The address holds both the settings and the questions, so the same link gives the same sheet again.
Two kinds of question
- Which is reasonable? Three values a power of ten apart, for example $0.20, $2 and $20 for an ice lolly. Only one of them lies in the reasonable range.
- Compare. Which weighs more, a cat or a dog? Which costs more, a bus ticket or a plane ticket? Some questions ask about how many times as fast a cyclist is as a walker.
The ranges are reasonable, not measured: a price or a mass on the sheet is a fact inside the question, not a claim about what anything costs today.
