How it works
- Choose the level and the question above, then how many figures: 4, 6 or 8.
- Print the sheet. The answer key comes on a page of its own; for “table to bar chart” it shows the bars.
- Or practise on screen. The same figures appear with a box for each answer, marked when you check. There is no score and no clock. Drawing bars is paper work: on screen it shows the table, and the bars appear under “Show answers”.
- Keep the link. The address holds the settings and the figures, so the same link gives the same sheet.
The questions
- Years 1–3: count tally marks into a table, draw the bars of a table on a grid, read a bar, find the category with the most or fewest, the difference between two, and the total. Every bar ends on a gridline.
- Years 4–6: larger counts on a scale of 2, 5 or 10 (a bar may stand between two gridlines), the mean (the sum divided by how many, always a whole number here), and questions the table does not answer: ask about something that is not in it and the right answer is “the table does not say”.
The figures are black and white: bars are hatched, so the sheet prints well on any printer.
